Early Years

Our Early Years programme accepts children between 30 months and 4 years (Kindergarten) and 4 to 5 years (Transition). Guided by our professionally-trained teachers and staff, our youngest students receive the level of quality care and attention that is fundamental to their intellectual, emotional, social and physical development.

At 36 months, students enter the IB PYP. At that time, their student experience is shaped by four units of inquiry that focus on:

  • Multiple learning styles. Spatial, auditory, linguistic, kinaesthetic, mathematical, interpersonal and intrapersonal aptitudes are nurtured and supported by techniques involving differentiated instruction.
  • Student curiosity. Inquiry-based activities capture interests while promoting independent choices and reflection.
  • Cooperation. Social interaction is enhanced by activities that provide a positive first experience with the world.
  • Creativity. Exploration, imaginative play and open-ended investigation encourage discovery and a healthy self-perception.
  • Technology. Smartboard interactive games, songs and experiences provide early exposure to technology. Apple iPads are used by students within the Transition classroom.

Numbers, phonic alphabet letters, various shapes, and sorting and sequencing exercises provide the foundation upon which attainment of future knowledge is based. Likewise, social involvement with peers and teachers brings students into contact with a vibrant and enriching world.

The language of instruction is English. Beginning in the Transition year, students receive 1ΒΌ hours of Italian lessons daily. For both Kindergarten and Transition, music is featured weekly and P.E. activities are provided twice weekly.
